Member law firms meet thrice a year (on March, August and November), always in a member’s
headquarters’ Brazilian or Latin American city.
Besides approving new members’ admission, and discussing ALAE’s strategic planning and
other internal matters, meetings always have a special session with invited clients, to discuss
their relationship with law firms in general and with ALAE in particular.
From March 2004, when ALAE was created, to date, meetings were held on the Brazilian States
of Alagoas, Bahia, Ceará, Goiás (in the city of Caldas Novas), Maranhão, Mato Grosso do Sul,
Minas Gerais, Paraíba, Paraná (in Curitiba, Foz do Iguaçu, and Londrina), Pernambuco, Rio de
Janeiro Janeiro (in the cities of Rio de Janeiro, Angra dos Reis, and Búzios), Rio Grande do Sul,
São Paulo (in the cities of São Paulo, Atibaia, and Campinas), and Santa Catarina, and abroad
in Punta del Este in Uruguay, Buenos Aires in Argentina, Cartagena in Colombia, and Cancun in
