The event “Five Years of Lava Jato: Reflections for Brazilian Companies” was held on May 17, 2019 at the Hotel Meliá Jardim Europa in São Paulo.
The inaugural conference was given by the STJ Minister Ricardo Villas Bôas Cueva, on the topic “Compliance: Perspectives and Challenges of Compliance Programs”.
The panel “Compliance and Leniency Agreements: Is It Necessary to Change Something?” followed, with the participation of Emir Calluf Filho, Legal and Compliance Director of J&F Investimentos, and Gustavo Henrique Justino de Oliveira, Professor of Administrative Law at USP, Lawyer and Arbitrator.
Demétrio Magnoli, columnist for Folha de São Paulo and commentator for Globo News, closed the event by talking about “How is Brazil doing after five years of Lava Jato and what to expect in the future.”
During the event, Minister Ricardo Villas Bôas Cueva signed the book “Compliance: Perspectives and Challenges of Compliance Programs”, coordinated by him and Professor Ana Frazão.
