Our Ally Carey, the largest law firm in Chile, www.carey.cl, osted the Allies meeting in Santiago de Chile, with events that ran from August 4th to 6th, 2022.
The first of these events, on Thursday, August 4, was the seminar “Free Trade Agreement between Brazil and Chile – Opportunities for Chilean Companies”, in which the Allied Offices and Chilean businessmen participated.
This seminar was attended by Selma Nunes, Vice President of the Brazil-Chile Chamber of Commerce, talking about the trade relations between the two countries, Samo S. Gonçalves, responsible for the Trade and Investments Section of the Brazilian Embassy in Chile, who addressed general aspects of the Brazil-Chile Free Trade Agreement, and Wanderley Donadel, partner of our Ally Romano Donadel Advogados, from Uberlândia – MG, who spoke about public procurement in Brazil.
The seminar was followed by a cocktail party in Carey’s office and dinner at La Dicha restaurant.
Friday, August 5th, began in the morning with the seminar “Chilean Constitutional Process”, which dealt with the country’s new Constitution, which will be submitted to a referendum on 09/04/2022.
Participated in this seminar Patricio Zapata, Senior Counselor of Carey and professor of Constitutional Law, who addressed the topic “Revision of the Constitutional Process in Chile”, and Rodrigo Álvarez, professor of Commercial and Tax Law and one of the elected members of the Constitutional Convention that prepared the text of the new Constitution. Rodrigo Álvarez spoke about “Experience of a Convention member – The Constitutional Convention from within”.
After lunch, served in Carey’s office, the Allis meeting took place and, in addition to dealing with internal administrative issues and new business opportunities, elected Fabio de Luca as President of the Alliance and João Póvoa as Vice-President.
In the evening, the Allies had dinner at the Infiltrados restaurant, with a course on how to make a perfect parrilla.
On Saturday, the Allies visited the Santa Rita Winery, on the outskirts of Santiago, where a lunch ended the program.
